The Standard ensure services provided are sensitive to gender, religious & cultural needs.
It includes specific precautions to be taken, while providing care to vulnerable patients viz. HIV, leprosy infection, abortion, teenage pregnancy, etc.
The standard measures the awareness among patients and the community about patients’ rights and responsibilities.
The standard also ensures establishment of defined protocol and procedures for grievance redressal.

(Focuses on provision of privacy curtains/screens in consultation and procedure areas, respectful communication, and secure handling of sensitive health records like HIV, leprosy, pregnancy, or mental health).
ME B3.3: Patients and community members are aware of their rights and responsibilities.
(Focuses on displaying the Patient Rights and Responsibilities Charter in local languages and promoting patient empowerment).
