Standard B2: Facility ensures that the services are accessible to the care- seekers and visitors including those requiring some affirmative action
The standard measures physical access to HWC.
It includes availability of all-weather road, without congestion & encroachment etc.
It also includes availability of ramps, wheelchairs, disabled friendly services etc with in the facilities.
The standard also measures affirmative actions taken by the facility to ensure provision of safe and dignified access for vulnerable & marginalized patients like, terminally ill patient, domestic violence cases, orphan, destitute etc.
ME B2.1: Physical access to the facility is easy, safe, and obstacle-free.
(Focuses on availability of approach roads, clear signage from main roads, absence of congestion or encroachment around the entrance, and all-weather accessibility).
ME B2.2: The facility structure and amenities are barrier-free and disabled-friendly.
(Focuses on infrastructure provisions like ramps with handrails, wide doorways, accessible/disabled-friendly toilets, tactile flooring, and availability of wheelchairs or stretchers).
ME B2.3: The facility takes affirmative actions for vulnerable, marginalized, and special-need patients.
(Focuses on priority care, dignified access, and tailored support for elderly patients, terminally ill individuals, victims of domestic violence, orphans, destitute care-seekers, and persons with severe disabilities).
